Spinning our Wheels
Do we have an active Board of Directors or what? In late March, CicLAvia launched in The Valley and we all had our hands on the wheel. CicLAvia transforms LA’s streets into a safe, fun, car-free space for walking, bicycling, skating, jogging and seeing the city in a whole new way. Presented by Metro and partnered with the City of Los Angeles, Fit 4 The Cause assisted traffic control at The Valley’s busiest intersection: Ventura Blvd. and Laurel Canyon (Studio City Farmers Market Hub). Friends, family and volunteers jumped into action along with board members Brian Sullivan, Eric Hunt and Hallie Blau.
Cross-Training Events
Work hard-play harder! That is our fitness philosophy. We evangelize the fitness lifestyle along with a healthy dose of community fun. The California Wine & Jazz Festival set for May 17th in Thousand Oaks celebrates music education and encourages local non-profit participation. Presented by the Westlake Village Sunrise Rotary Club, Fit 4 The Cause benefits through ticket sales when buyers include special code 15CJWFFIT. Other recent community events includes Fit 4 The Cause night at Mendocino Farms in Westlake Village (April 29th) and participation at Cal Lutheran University’s job fair.
- Mendocino Farms Flier – must bring with you to the event!!
- California Wine & Jazz Festival Flier – use code “15CJWFFIT” to donate half the ticket cost to Fit 4 The Cause

Walking the Walk and Talking the Talk
In April, our Founder and certified fitness professional Cindy Rakowitz speaks to Many Mansions residents about the Fitness Lifestyle. Our mission is wellness education for all populations and we are very excited about our sustainable relationships with other non-profit organizations like Many Mansions.
Smashing Soiree
T minus 5 months to go and our first annual Miracle of Movement Gala is blossoming beautifully. We are thrilled to have Edison International as one of our Champion Sponsors along with All-Star Sponsors, Brian Sullivan (Humana); Raymond H. Mallel Foundation/PDC Asset Management and SingerLewak. Heywood Friedman Law Group combines philanthropy and fun through sponsoring our bar, better known as the cross-training hydration station. We also welcome our Player Sponsors YP (Yellow Pages) and Morton Capital Management. Our in-kind sponsors include Herzog Wine Cellars; Enhanced Landscape Management Inc.; Brent’s Deli; Aramark and Conejo Valley Guide. During the cocktail hour, guests can power bid on collectible auction items staged by Bang the Gavel. At this memorable soiree, we pay tribute to special individuals who are committed to smashing obstacles: Sourena Vasseghi, an author and motivational speaker with cerebral palsy (translation provided by gym owner Chris Stevenson) and Lisa Aaronson-Roub who is recovering from her recent breast cancer battle. Our emcee, FOX Sports Talk Broadcaster Tomm Looney will reinforce this theme by interviewing surprise celebrities who will talk about “smashing obstacles”. The evening promises to be one of inspiration, celebration and surprises including a recital featuring Ballet for All Kids, a non-profit organization receiving proceeds from this Gala.
